all grown up

My little brother is a senior in high school this year! WOW! Makes me feel wayy old! I still remember the days that we'd act as dogs upstairs in the game room for hours, watch star wars, play with legos (when I was allowed to touch them) and ganged up on Charise. :) good times lil bro! Here's to you, mr. senior 2012

photographs and memories

It never ceases to amaze me how photos enhance and bring to life old memories. Maybe that's why I take so many pictures - to make sure that I never forget. So, if the camera's in your face, it's because I really like you.  Take some comfort in that! But really, I love photos, they bring a sense of relief and comfort to my everyday life.

With that preface, this post only contains one photo, but it means a lot to me. I took it recently while at the beach cabin with my family and some of my extended family. I have so many memories at Rockaway Beach! From childhood memories, to making new friendships, to strengthening family relationships. Many a good story has come from beach trips and a part of me feels like I grew up on the Oregon coast. So  here's to Rockaway, more pictures to come from this trip!

two things I love ...

are black and white photos and sunflowers. My beginning photography class gave me a love and an appreciation of black and white photos. They possess an elegance unlike a color photo.
Sunflowers are just: beautiful, bright, yellow, different and so much fun!

Thanks go to Somers [my beautiful roommate] who constantly has the camera in her face and to Braxton [the man in my life] who gave me the sunflowers!
